Made for Weekly Gamejam 141; Good luck.

Note (one of many): I haven't made many games in the past, so I wanted absolutely nothing to go wrong with the pixel art, so you can't resize the game nor use fullscreen. So please reset your zoom if you play this online, or the UI will be quite broken.

Game Noir is an action game, inspired by the Film Noir film style.

Dan is just an average detective on the case of a mafia, when his wife gets kidnapped. Help Dan save his wife! Also, keep an eye on your bullets, and make sure they don't run out..

Controls: Use Z to shoot, and the arrows to move. If an imminent bullet is detected, and your health is low, the game will give you the option to dodge the bullet if you have enough luck, by pressing A. PS: HTML version only works on PC, sorry..

Yes I do have enough motivation to keep working on this! I'll keep this page updated with new versions of the game, both the HTML versions and the binaries.

Edit: Yes I did reupload stuff at 19:05 because I went to have dinner only to come back to discover a breaking bug in the respawn code after you die, so I fixed that. That's it, not anything else. I hope I don't get disqualified for doing that.

NOTE: This is a prototype, just to show off my idea for this game in combination with the pixel art and the luck system. IT DOES NOT CONTAIN A BOSS YET, and lacks animations. After a "somewhat like a boss" the game ends for now, but I will probably finish the game later in my own time without a 6-day deadline. For now I am happy with how this turned out, and I hope you think so too!

This was a pretty fun game! A few thoughts: I know you were pressed for time, but a little music would have gone a long way.

Thanks for the tip! I'll do that next time.
